THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL – PLEASE APPLY TO PART II

This six-week course is the first part of the Musicianship for Performers Course (Part II will take place as a four-week sequel in November). The course admits a small group of participants and is conducted online via Zoom. With emphasis on depth of musical understanding and individual development, students are guided through applying the course topics to their own repertoire. The course material is adapted to each participant’s repertoire, and is designed to challenge a wide range of abilities and levels.

Each of the six sessions will be dedicated to a specific topic, explored through a weekly class every Sunday at 3-5pm CEST (2-4pm BST), supported by group work, individual sessions, and three guest artist workshops. You will be guided in connecting what you learn to your own repertoire by Jenna Sherry (violinist, festival director, and teacher at School for Young Talent, Royal Conservatory in The Hague) and Prach Boondiskulchok (pianist, composer, and teacher at Royal College of Music Junior Department), alongside a group of mentors who are accomplished musicians.

Time:
13th September – 18th October 2020
Class times: Every Sunday 15:00-17:00 CEST / 14:00-16:00 BST (UK)

With individual sessions and mentored group sessions to be scheduled to suit your needs.

Each week starts with a 2-hour Lecture and Workshop on one of the topics above interspersed with practical small group exercises designed to develop your understanding of the topic and sharpen your musicianship.
